Lusa - Business News - Portugal: Stock market closes higher BCP, Semapa leading gains

Lisbon, April 28, 2026 (Lusa) – The Lisbon stock market closed higher on Tuesday, gaining 0.95% to 9,265.14 points, as European markets remained mixed while gains from BCP and Semapa boosted the index.

Of the 16 companies in the PSI (Portuguese Stock Index), 11 rose, three fell, and Sonae and Corticeira Amorim remained unchanged at €1.92 and €6.38, respectively.

BCP led the gains on Tuesday, rising 2.67% to €0.89, followed by Semapa, which climbed 2.02% to €22.70. Companies closing over 1% higher included Galp (1.81% to €19.65), Altri (1.43% to €4.95), CTT (1.34% to €6.45), NOS (1.27% to €5.59) and REN (1.20% to €3.78).

EDP Renovaveis (0.57% to €14.16), Navigator (0.55% to €3.31), EDP (0.54% to €4.62) and Mota-Engil (0.34% to €4.68) saw smaller gains. Only three companies fell: Ibersol dropped 1.34% to €11.78, Teixeira Duarte fell 1.15% to €0.43 and Jeronimo Martins lost 0.10% to €20.38. Main European bourses closed mixed on Tuesday, with London, Madrid and Milan rising 0.11%, 0.46% and 0.77% respectively. Paris and Frankfurt fell 0.46% and 0.27%.
