NNA - Environment Ministry, CNRS Unveil Landmark Study on War’s Environmental Impact

NNA - Environment Minister, Tamara El Zein,  and CNRS Secretary-General, Chadi Abdallah, on Thursday launched a national study on the environmental impact of Israeli attacks on Lebanon (2023–2025), on Earth Day.

El Zein described the damage as "environmental genocide," affecting forests, air, water, and soil with long-term risks to public health and food security. The report outlines recovery guidelines, cost estimates (about $300 million for urgent interventions), and documentation for legal claims.

Abdallah said the study reflects eight months of scientific work, including soil, radiation and environmental assessments.
