Lusa - Business News - Portugal: Lisbon stock market closes down with CTT losing over 11%

Lisbon, March 19, 2026 (Lusa) - The Lisbon stock market closed lower on Thursday, with the PSI (Portuguese Stock Index) falling 2.06% to 8,946.83 points and CTT losing more than 11%, in line with the rest of Europe.

Of the 16 listed companies in the PSI, 14 fell, and two rose.

CTT led the losses, falling 11.08% to €5.94. On Wednesday, CTT announced that its profit rose 11.4% in 2025 compared to the previous year, to €50.7 million.

Among the main falls were Jerónimo Martins, which dropped 7.34% to €19.96, Sonae SGPS, down 5.74% to €1.84, Teixeira Duarte, which fell 5.28% to €0.41, Mota-Engil, which declined 3.73% to €4.19, BCP, falling 2.69% to €0.79, and Semapa, which lost 2.34% to €20.90.

Other notable losses included Altri, down 1.94% to €4.54, Ibersol, which shed 1.85% to €10.60, Corticeira Amorim, which slumped 1.74% to €6.23, EDP Renováveis, down 1.65% to €13.15, and Navigator, which decreased 1.23% to €3.22. Falls below 1% were recorded by EDP (€4.34) and REN (€3.87).

Galp led the gains, rising 3.79% to €22.16, followed by NOS, which grew 0.75% to €5.39.

Across the rest of Europe, Frankfurt dropped 2.82%, London 2.35%, Madrid 2.27%, and Paris 2.03%. PE/LYT // ADB.
