Lusa - Business News - Portugal: Stock market closes red, led down by Mota-Engil, Semapa

Lisbon, March 13, 2026 (Lusa) - The Lisbon stock market closed lower on Friday, with the PSI falling 0.09% to 9,143.72 points, on a day when Mota-Engil and Semapa led the losses, dropping by more than 3%.

Of the 16 listed companies that make up the benchmark PSI (Portuguese Share Index), nine closed in the red and the other seven in positive territory.

Leading the PSI’s losses was Semapa, which fell 3.81% to €21.45, followed by Mota-Engil, which lost 3.34% to €4.40.

Also recording losses of over 1% were CTT, which fell 2.48% to €6.69, Teixeira Duarte, which fell 1.98% to 44 cents per share, BCP, which lost 1.47% to 79 cents, and Navigator, which fell 1.07% to €3.32.

By contrast, among the heavyweights helping to prevent more significant losses in the national benchmark index were, in particular, EDP Renováveis, which rose 1.34% to €13.60, as well as Jerónimo Martins, which advanced 0.63% to €22.32.

In the other major European markets, the session was also negative: the French CAC-40 fell by 0.91%, the German DAX lost 0.60%, the Spanish IBEX-35 dropped by 0.47% and the British FTSE 100 fell by 0.43%.
