Lisbon, March 11, 2026 (Lusa) - The Lisbon stock market was trading lower on Wednesday morning, with the PSI benchmark above 9,000 points and Teixeira Duarte shares falling 1.68% to €0.47.
At around 9:50 a.m. in Lisbon, the PSI maintained its opening trend and fell 0.20% to 9,004.99 points, with 11 companies falling, four rising, and one holding steady (Ibersol at €10.8).
Teixeira Duarte shares were followed by those of NOS, EDP Renováveis and EDP, which fell 1.13% to €5.25, 1.01% to €12.78 and 0.86% to €4.27, respectively.
BCP, CTT and Semapa shares also fell, namely 0.81% to €0.83, 0.74% to €6.74 and 0.68% to €21.90.
Navigator shares fell 0.60% to €3.30, as did Corticeira Amorim and Jerónimo Martins, which both fell 0.47% to €6.34 and €21.38.
Altri shares fell 0.21% to €4.70.
In contrast, Galp and Sonae shares rose 1.07% to €19.90 and 1.05% to €1.93.
The other two shares that also rose were Mota-Engil (0.31% to €4.59) and REN (0.13% to €3.86).
The main European stock markets returned to declines today after Tuesday's gains, while oil prices rose again amid the conflict in Iran.
Wall Street index futures point to gains of 0.7% for the Dow Jones Industrial Average and 0.16% for the Nasdaq Composite.
After Tuesday's sharp falls, when the price per barrel fell to below $90, oil prices rose again today, up 2.33%.
At this time, the price of Brent crude oil, the benchmark in Europe, for May delivery rose to $89.60, and West Texas Intermediate (WTI), the benchmark in the US, for April delivery rose to $85.38 per barrel.
Natural gas for one-month delivery rose to 48.916 per megawatt-hour (MWh), after falling about 15% on Tuesday and reaching a high of €56.45 on 9 March, awaiting the International Energy Agency's (IEA) proposal to release oil reserves to reduce prices, a measure supported by the G7 countries.
As for precious metals, the price of gold fell 0.76% and silver fell 2.78%.
The euro rose to $1.1613 on the Frankfurt foreign exchange market, compared to $1.1611 on Tuesday and $1.1980 on 27 January, a new high since June 2021.
