ALGIERS - Massad Boulos, Senior Advisor to the U.S. President for Arab and African Affairs, highlighted the strength of Algeria-U.S. relations on Tuesday in Algiers, reaffirming the shared commitment of both countries toward achieving a more peaceful and prosperous future.
In a statement to the press following his meeting with President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune at the Presidential Palace, Boulos stated: "I reaffirmed with the President our joint commitment to fostering cooperation, especially regarding peace-building and addressing regional security concerns."
The U.S. official emphasized the "great potential for expanding trade relations between the two countries, building on the solid foundations of their economic cooperation." He noted that during his visit, he also met with Minister of State and Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf to "discuss joint efforts to support peace and stability, including in the Sahel region."
Furthermore, Boulos met with Minister of State and Energy Minister Mohamed Arkab to "explore new horizons for trade partnerships and examine ways the two countries can work together for mutual benefit."
The Senior Advisor concluded by stressing that the visit reinforced his confidence in the "strength of Algeria-U.S. relations and our joint commitment to achieving a more peaceful and prosperous future for both our countries and the region."
