TIRANA, January 24 /ATA/ There has been a high interest from visitors and tour operators from around the world in Albania’s stand at the FITUR 2026 International Tourism Fair in Madrid, Spain.
This reflects the growing international attention to Albania as a tourist destination.
The Albanian stand presents the country’s main tourist destinations, cultural heritage values and traditional products, which constitute an important part of the national tourist offer. This presentation aims to reflect Albania’s diversity and its potential for development of tourism all-year round.
Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sports Blendi Gonxhja shared in the social media moments from the activities at the Albania stand, highlighting the interest and curiosity of visitors to get acquainted better with Albanian destinations.
“Interest and curiosity pulses through the visitors interested in every moment to discover and experience Albania in all its dimensions,” said Minister Gonxhja.
Albania's participation in FITUR 2026 is considered an important opportunity to promote Albanian tourism in international markets, to promote cooperation with tour operators and to increase the number of foreign visitors to the country.
According to the latest data published by the Institute of Statistics (INSTAT), 12,466,038 foreign citizens visited our country during last year.
This figure marks an annual increase of 6.6% compared to 2024, proving that Albania's growth trend as a tourist destination is consolidating.
