ZAGREB, 21 Jan (Hina) - Croatia will host a round of the World Rally Championship for the fifth time from 9 to 12 April this year.
The WRC Croatia Rally, which has previously been held four times in Zagreb and surrounding counties, will this year move to the western part of the country, covering Primorje-Gorski Kotar, Istria, Karlovac and Lika-Senj counties.
This year’s WRC Croatia Rally was presented at a press conference in Rijeka on Tuesday.
"The rally will take place across four counties. The start is on Thursday, 9 April, in Rijeka on Korzo. After the 'shakedown' in the Grobnik area, Friday will feature special stages in Istria, Saturday in Primorje-Gorski Kotar and Karlovac counties, and on Sunday it concludes in Senj with a 'live stage' at Nehaj Fortress. The finish and trophy presentation will take place in Opatija," said Daniel Šaškin, the Chair of the Organising Committee.
This is an asphalt rally that Croatia has been organising since 2021, except in 2025, when the European Rally Championship was held in the country.
Over the past four years, more than one million spectators have watched the WRC in Croatia live, while TV broadcasts and recordings have reached nearly 100 million viewers across more than 160 countries per season.
By moving the event to the Kvarner region, Istria, and Lika, the WRC Croatia Rally gains a new dimension and further solidifies its status as one of the most significant sporting events in Croatia.
