APS - Kouidri explores cooperation, investment opportunities with Swedish, British ambassadors

ALGIERS- The Minister of Pharmaceutical Industry, Ouacim Kouidri, received on Tuesday, the ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden to Algeria, Anna Block Mazoyer, and the ambassador of the United Kingdom, Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Algeria, James Robert Stephen Downer, with whom he discussed prospects for cooperation and investment in the pharmaceutical industry, according to a statement from the ministry.

The meeting was held at the ministry’s headquarters in the presence of the Director General of AstraZeneca in Algeria and the Regional Director for Africa and the Maghreb of the same laboratory.

The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange views on the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation and investment opportunities in the pharmaceutical industry, particularly with regard to the production of innovative medicines in Algeria and transferring expertise and technology, the same source added.

During the talks, Kouidri emphasized the sector’s readiness to support all operators interested in establishing local pharmaceutical manufacturing, particularly for innovative medicines, stressing Algeria’s determination to strengthen cooperation and partnership relations with foreign laboratories that contribute to creating added value and providing the latest technologies in the pharmaceutical industry, according to the statement.
