HINA - Interactive Croatian audio stories app launched in South America

ZAGREB, 18 Dec (Hina) -The interactive mobile app Hrvatski zvukopis, featuring 90 geolocated audio stories by Croatian authors in Croatian, English and Spanish, has been officially launched in Santiago, Punta Arenas and Buenos Aires.

The free app presents works by contemporary and older Croatian authors and plans to expand with new literary content, aiming to boost the international visibility of the Croatian language and literature. The South American launch follows previous launches in New York, London, Paris and Madrid.

The project was introduced by author and artistic director Jelena Remetin, actress Jelena Miholjević and producer Andrea Remetin, with presentations held at universities in Chile and Argentina, including Universidad de Chile in Santiago, Universidad de Magallanes in Punta Arenas and the University of Buenos Aires. Workshops and events were also held in Croatian cultural centres, supported by local consuls and the Croatian ambassador to Chile.

Stories can be accessed in public spaces and listened to or read digitally, allowing audiences to explore Croatian literature through innovative audio and geolocation formats. The project has drawn attention from Latin American media for its cultural and technological innovation.

The app is free and already active in Croatian cities including Zagreb, Split, Rijeka, Osijek and the islands in Split-Dalmatia County, with plans to expand to more locations in Argentina next year, along with new content by Croatian authors.
