TIRANA, December 13 /ATA/ Archaeological Park of Apollonia is one of the most important cultural heritage destinations in the country.
Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sports Blendi Gonxhja said that during 2025 this park had over 125 thousand visitors, which confirms the high interest in this archaeological site.
According to Gonxhja, the museum collections of Apollonia are undergoing a process of modernization and digital documentation, with the aim of preserving and presenting them according to contemporary standards. In parallel, there is work underway on construction of the New Visitor Center, which is expected to offer better services and an improved experience for the public.
Apollonia is located southwest of Fier and represents one of the largest ancient cities in the territory of Albania. As one of the most important centers of the ancient Mediterranean world, it is considered one of the pearls of Albanian archaeological heritage.
