ANSA - Good sensations says Brignone after getting back on skis

Skier in race against time to be fit for Milano Cortina 2026

Italian skiing star Federica Brignone said she had good sensations following two days back on skis at Cervinia as she continues her race against time to be fit for the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics after breaking her leg on April 3.
"I am very happy to have put the skis back on," she said.
"There are many positive things but there is still a lot to do.
"It was a perfect day to go skiing, with wintry conditions and close to home.
"Let's say it's a first taste, not a point of arrival but of departure.

At the beginning I was a bit clunky, but after a run I found a good feeling.
"It felt like I had never stopped skiing.
"I felt my leg reacting, the contact with the snow and sliding.
It was a good feeling." Milan-born Brignone, 35, is the all-time most successful Italian woman skier in the World Cup and her 37 wins put her behind only the great Alberto Tomba, on 50, for both sexes.
Brigone also has two Olympic silvers and a bronze as well as two world championship golds and three silvers.
As well as her second overall World Cup crown early this year, Brignone also got the downhill and giant slalom crystal globes.
The 2026 Winter Olympics take place from February 6 to 22.
