TIRANA, November 20/ATA/ Albanian National Film Archive has so far successfully restored to their former glory 19 films produced from the former “New Albania” film studio. And the films are now available to be present to the public again in the form they deserve.
Prime Minister Edi Rama shared today in the social media a video with extracts of the digitally restored films, writing that “19 iconic films from the former “New Albania” film studio, with image, sound and color masterfully restored in 4K by the National Film Archive, will soon be shown exclusively on the screen of the public Albanian Television (RTSH).”
The National Film Archive began the restoration project of the films in 2012 in collaboration with foreign studios. The films that have been restored so far are cinematographic productions dating back before the 1990s in our country.
A 4K film restoration is a process of enhancing old films to a 4K resolution. This results in a significantly more detailed and clearer picture with richer colors, making it possible for audiences to see the old films with the clarity and quality of modern films.
Thus, these old productions have undergone a genuine process of digitalization in both video and audio to be a special asset in the Albanian cinematographic fund. /m.q/a.f/p.s./
