ATA - Sejko: Economy is growing at a steady pace, while there is stable inflation

TIRANA, November 14/ATA/ At a joint press conference with Head of the IMF Mission Anke Weber and Minister of Finance Petrit Malaj, Governor of the Bank of Albania Gent Sejko positively assessed the developments of the Albanian economy during 2025.

Sejko emphasized that the Albanian economy is growing at a steady pace. Meanwhile, inflation has remained low, close to the Bank of Albania’s target.

The Governor highlighted the role of monetary policy in controlling inflation and supporting the expansion of consumption and investments, as well as the significance of the fiscal consolidation process in reducing the deficit and public debt.

Sejko emphasized the advancement of financial markets and Albania’s membership in SEPA, reducing transaction costs with international partners and favoring integration into the European Union.

The Bank of Albania's forecasts for the coming years remain positive, with stable economic growth and inflation stabilized at around the 3% level, creating space for balanced macroeconomic policies and for the further development of financial markets and the banking system.

Sejko assured that the Bank of Albania will continue to remain committed to price stability, financial market regulation and supervision, while supporting structural reforms for faster and more inclusive economic growth. /e.xh/a.f/r.e/p.s./
