TIRANA, Nov 3 /ATA/ President of the Republic, Bajram Begaj, met on Monday with representatives of the Albanian Diaspora living and working in Egypt.
In a cordial and welcoming atmosphere, President Begaj expressed his pleasure in meeting members of the Albanian diaspora from various regions. He emphasized that "wherever we go and wherever we build our lives, we have always demonstrated the ability to unite in support of one another, but most importantly, to promote our language, culture, and rich traditions."
President of the Republic praised the historic role of the Albanian diaspora in Egypt, which has served as a vital bridge between the two countries since the 19th century. He highlighted the contributions of prominent figures such as Muhammad Ali Pasha and Thimi Mitko, who, with their vision and dedication, played a significant role in the development of modern Egypt and the construction of its national identity during the Renaissance period.
Addressing those present, Begaj emphasized the importance of strengthening contemporary ties between Albania and Egypt through cooperation in trade, education, science, technology, culture, and tourism.
He encouraged young Albanians living in Egypt to learn and promote the Albanian language and to participate in forums and organizations that showcase the country’s best values, so that “the friendships forged today may become the partnerships of tomorrow.”
