Chocolate, which has always been known as the food of gods, now has its city.
Perugia, a symbol of this delicacy, will host a space dedicated to cocoa and chocolate.
It will be inaugurated in the main city of Umbria on Thursday, October 30, at 11 am, in the area of the former Covered Market.
The creator and artistic director, Eugenio Guarducci, explained that the initiative is a "project of nearly 3,000 square metres dedicated to the culture of chocolate and cocoa with a real bean-to-bar factory inside".
It is a "large immersive space where all types of target audiences, from children to adults, can live an experience" that is "unique worldwide", he added.
"I had the fortune of visiting all museums dedicated to chocolate in the world and I can say that not only is the City of chocolate the largest but, modestly, the most beautiful as well", said Guarducci.
The creator of the project said it was born in 2004.
"Everybody knew that Perugia intended to revitalize the area of the Covered Market", he recalled.
"A debate lasted many years and then, fortunately, the idea was rewarded and, thanks to a pool of local entrepreneurs who believed in the project, we reached the finishing line", Guarducci concluded.
