The Armani Group said Thursday that it has made Giuseppe Marsocci, a veteran manager with the iconic Italian fashion brand, its new CEO.
    Marsocci has been with the company for 23 years and has served, among other things, as its CEO of the Americas and, most recently, as its deputy general manager and global chief commercial officer.
    Leo Dell'Orco, the president of the board of directors, said Marsocci's appointment was a logical move for the group, which lost its inspirational founder Giorgio Armani at the age of 91 last month.
    "His international professional experience, deep knowledge of the sector and of the company, discretion, loyalty, and team spirit, together with his closeness in recent years to Mr Armani, make Giuseppe the most natural choice to ensure continuity along the path mapped out, built and perpetuated for 50 years by the founder," Dell'Orco said.
