Italy's public debt hit a record high in absolute terms of 3.0822 trillion euros in August, a rise of 25.4 billion euros with respect to July, the Bank of Italy said on Wednesday.
    The central bank said the rise was driven by an increase in the Treasury's liquidity of 25.3 billion euros, taking it to 72.1 billion.
