    Italy need to beat Israel to ensure they get at least a spot in the playoffs to qualify for next year's tournament in North America, They look unlikely to catch up with group leaders Norway, who have a perfect record of 18 points from six games and a goal difference of +26, even if they win their remaining three matches.
    The Azzurri, who risk missing the World Cup for a third consecutive time, are second in the group with 12 points from five games.
