ORAN, 13 October 2025 (APS) - Oran-Alicante Week kicked off in Oran on Sunday, featuring performances, workshops, exhibitions, and sessions aimed at strengthening the cultural, academic, and social bonds between the Algerian and Spanish cities.

The event is jointly organized by Casa Mediterr?neo (the International House of the Mediterranean), the Spanish Cervantes Institute, and the University 1 of Oran "Ahmed Ben Bella."

The program opened at the university with a series of workshops on Arab comics for students at the Institute of Arts, led by Spain's Alfanar Foundation, an organization dedicated to bridging Arab and Spanish cultures.

The Director of the Institute of Arts, Aissa Rasselma, said that the workshop is part of an ongoing partnership between the University 1 of Oran and the Alfanar Foundation.

It gives visual arts students an opportunity to explore the history of comics, particularly in the Arab world, and the works created during the sessions will be displayed at the event's closing exhibition.

The event will also feature a roundtable discussion on "Algeria-Spain: New Pathways for Strengthening Strategic Cooperation Between Both Shores."
