ALGIERS- The Ministry of Tourism and Craft Industry will organize the International Saharan Tourism Festival from 4 to 6 December in the province of Timimoun, the ministry said in a press release.
The sector’s minister, Houria Meddahi, chaired on Thursday “ a coordination meeting to follow up the preparations for the International Saharan Tourism Festival (FITS-2025), scheduled from 4 to 6 September in Timimoun,” said the source.
Meddahi underlined that this meeting is part of “the approach adopted by her ministerial department to revive tourism as a vital sector to which the Algerian public authorities grant a major importance, in order to make it a key driver of local development.”
The International Saharan Tourism Festival is meant to be a “space to present unique tourism experiences, strengthening of the attractiveness of Saharan regions as excellent tourist destination at the national and international levels,” affirmed the minister.
