ALGIERS- State Minister, Minister of Energy, Mines, and Renewable Energy, Mohamed Arkab, received on Tuesday Ahmed Helmy, Vice President of the American company Halliburton for the North Africa region, with whom he discussed investment opportunities in the hydrocarbons sector in Algeria, according to a ministry statement.
During the meeting, held at the ministry headquarters in the presence of its officials and the Halliburton representative in Algeria, both parties discussed the state of cooperation and partnership between Sonatrach and the American company in the hydrocarbons sector, as well as the prospects for their development, the source said.
The two parties further discussed possibilities for cooperation in exploration and development of oil and gas fields, oilfield services, digital solutions, modern technologies, and human resource training in these areas, the same source added.
In this regard, Arkab emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation with Halliburton, given its historical ties with Sonatrach, stressing the key role of digital solutions in optimizing the exploitation of national hydrocarbon resources and ensuring their sustainability.
He also called for the development of deposits and increasing production levels, with particular attention to promoting local content, developing national skills, and strengthening training, reaffirming the ministry's support for expanding Halliburton's activities in Algeria.
