Pope Leo XIV on Wednesday signed a BMW motorbike the proceeds of whose auction will go towards building a school for children forced to work in mica mines in Madagascar, the Vatican said.
At his weekly general audience in St Peter's Square, the American pontiff autographed the BMW motorcycle, which will be auctioned by Sotheby's in Monaco.
The proceeds will go to Madagascar via the Pontifical Mission Societies of Austria to help build a school for children forced to work in the mica mines, said communications officials at Missio Austria.
