Italy's unemployment rate dropped to 6.0% in July, down by 0.3 of a percentage point on June, taking it to the lowest level since June 2007, according to provisional data released by Istat on Monday.
The national statistics agency said the number of unemployed people in July was 1.532 million, down by 74,000 on June and by 114,000 with respect to July 2024.
The decline in the number of unemployed people "affected both sexes and all age groups" it said..
It added that the youth jobless rate was down by 1.4 points to 18.7%.
