TIRANA, July 7 (ATA) - Agriculture contributed 17.9% to Albania’s GDP in 2024, according to a new Eurostat report, placing the sector among the largest in the national economy.
According to Eurostat, the figure is ten times higher than the average contribution of agriculture in European Union member states and double that of regional peers, reflecting growing investment and transformation across the sector.
Demand for agricultural products continues to rise steadily, alongside export growth.
According to Albania’s Ministry of Agriculture, the country’s agricultural exports reached 5.92 billion lek in May 2025, recording a 9% year-on-year increase.
The government aims to boost agricultural exports to 1 billion euros annually by 2030.
