TIRANA, June 24 /ATA/ - The giant yacht of Israeli billionaire Yuri Milner has been anchored on Tuesday at the port of Durres as the number of luxury yachts and sailing ships visiting Albania’s coast and ports has increased significantly.

Albania’s popularity as a superyachts destination has been constantly growing over the past few years.

The Port Authority of Durres announced that the yacht, designed by the prestigious Norwegian firm Kleven Maritime AS and launched in 2016, arrived after stopping at La Seyne-sur-Mer on the French coast.

The 107-meter long superyacht “Andromeda” has a draft of 5.11 meters. Sailing under the Cayman Islands flag, it has a gross tonnage of 5,937 tons, a crew of 43, and can accommodate up to 30 guests.

The port complex is steadily expanding its logistics to provide international-standard services for luxury vessels, including yachts and cruise ships, marking a significant step towards developing elite tourism in Albania.

Albania is becoming a destination of the elite tourism. Port authorities say that the number of luxury yachts arriving in Albania is growing and the duration of their stay is also increasing.
