ATA - Albania sees 23% increase in overnight stays at tourist accommodations in April

TIRANA, June 17 /ATA/ - Albania’s tourism sector continues to demonstrate notable growth, marked not only by an increase in the number of international arrivals but also by an extended duration of visitor stays, according to official data released by the Institute of Statistics (INSTAT) on Tuesday.

Data from tourist accommodation facilities including hotels, short-term rentals, camping, and campsites, published by the National Institute of Statistics (INSTAT), show a 23 % year-on-year increase in number of visitors to Albania in April 2025, underscoring the country’s growing appeal as a travel destination.

The majority of international guests staying in registered accommodation facilities originated from Italy (16%), Kosovo (14%), and Germany (8%). Visitors from Poland and the United Kingdom accounted for 7% and 6% respectively, while 49% hailed from various other countries.

These figures reflect a positive trajectory in inbound tourism, particularly from key regional and European source markets.

INSTAT further observed that tourism activity during this period was predominantly concentrated in central Albania. The most pronounced growth in non-resident visitor numbers was recorded in non-coastal areas, which saw an 8.5% increase - an upward trend associated with the seasonal visitors winter and spring.
