APS - Algerian Mohamed Meridja re-elected executive of the International Judo Federation

BUDAPEST-Algerian Mohamed Meridja has been re-elected to the executive board of the International Judo Federation (IJF), on the occasion of the ordinary congress held Wednesday in Budapest, Hungary, on the sidelines of the individual judo world championships “OTP Bank” (June 13-19), we learned from the interested party.

Meridja will continue his functions within the international body, as general director of Coaching and Education, a position he has held since his first mandate in 2007.

“I couldn’t be happier about this re-election, which mirrors the global judo leadership’s commitment to continuity. It’s an honor for my country, Algeria, and for Africa,” Meridja told APS. He also serves as vice-president of the African Judo Union (AJU).

“I will continue working alongside other IJF executive board members, under President Marius L. Vizer’s leadership, to promote judo’s development worldwide. We remain fully dedicated and motivated to advance our sport even further.”
