TIRANA, June 4/ATA/ At the venues of the Academy of Sciences, there was held the Third International Conference of the National Institute of Physics.
Since 2025 has been declared the International Year of Quantum Technology, the conference focused on major achievements in this field.
During the conference, there were made 24 presentations by 70 renowned researchers: 17 from Albania, 4 from Albanian space, 10 Albanian physicists from the diaspora and 39 foreign researchers from prestigious European and American institutions, such as: Robert Mochkovitch (Institute of Astrophysics, Paris), Silvano Tosi (University of Genoa), and representatives of CERN.
Chairman of the Academy of Sciences of Albania, acad. Skënder Gjinushi, praised the role of the National Institute of Physics as a center of cooperation and coordination between national and international scientific institutions. He emphasized the Academy's commitment to face the challenge of brain drain and promote contemporary knowledge in physics, excellence and a common space for Albanian physicists at home and abroad.
Acad. Gjinushi also highlighted the active involvement of Albanian scientists from the Diaspora, who contribute to the work of the Institute as if they were in Albania.
At the end of the two-day conference, there were presented the conclusions on the importance of disseminating the latest scientific research results in physics and quantum technology, including teaching. There were also discussions on consolidation of the cooperation network between Albanian and foreign physicists, as well as the further expansion of the Institute with new members. /j.p/p.s./
