MAP - Royal Air Maroc to Start Operations at New Terminal One at John F. Kennedy Airport in 2026

Casablanca -  May 7, 2025 - (MAP) - Royal Air Maroc (RAM) is set to begin operations at the New Terminal One (NTO) at New York's John F. Kennedy (JFK) International Airport in 2026, marking a key milestone in the Moroccan airline's growth strategy across the United States.

A strategic partnership has been finalized between RAM and the NTO, allowing the Moroccan airline to begin operations from the new Terminal in June next year, according to a joint press release.

This long-term partnership is part of the airline's ambitious strategy to strengthen transatlantic ties between Africa and the Americas, while offering an enhanced customer experience through one of its major international gateways.

The NTO is a key component of the transformation project for JFK Airport, led by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. With an investment of $19 billion, this large-scale international project aims to make JFK Airport a global gateway.

The project will include two new terminals, the modernization and expansion of two existing terminals, a new ground transportation centre, and an entirely new, simplified roadway network.

"We are thrilled to welcome Royal Air Maroc to The New Terminal One. This step marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for the airline in New York. Anchored by a shared commitment to delivering an exceptional customer experience, we look forward to a strong and lasting partnership that will support the airline's growth ambitions in the United States," said Jennifer Aument, CEO of The NTO at JFK.

For his part, RAM CEO Hamid Addou said that this partnership is a major advancement for RAM and strengthens its strategic presence in New York, a key entry point for the company's transatlantic operations.

"We are proud to be part of this innovative terminal, which will offer our customers an unmatched travel experience aligned with our standards of excellence. This project is fully in line with our development plan, which aims to position RAM as a global airline."

Currently, Royal Air Maroc operates flights to Casablanca from the existing Terminal 1 at JFK Airport with two daily frequencies aboard Boeing 787 aircraft. Starting in June 2026, the airline will relocate to the new Terminal 1, offering an enhanced travel experience to its customers heading to the iconic city of New York.

In collaboration with RAM, The New Terminal One will provide a seamless customer journey, from arrival at the airport to boarding, thanks to cutting-edge technology, modern design, and excellent service.

Premium shopping and dining offerings will enhance every step of the experience for Royal Air Maroc passengers departing from one of the United States' strategic hubs.

Royal Air Maroc is the first member of the oneworld alliance to choose the new Terminal 1 and joins a growing community of leading airlines operating from this terminal, including Air France, KLM, Etihad, LOT Polish Airlines, Korean Air, EVA Air, Air Serbia, SAS, Neos, Philippine Airlines, Turkish Airlines, Air New Zealand, and Air China.
