ATA - INSTAT: Over 1 million foreign tourists visit Albania in first two months of 2024

TIRANA, March 25 /ATA/ – Albania saw a rise in number of foreign visitors during the winter season, with over one million foreign nationals entering the country in the first two months of 2024. 

According to the National Institute of Statistics (INSTAT), the number of foreign nationals entering Albania was over 516 000 in February alone, marking an increase of 7.4% year-on-year. 

INSTAT data show that the majority or 96% of foreign arrivals came from Europe, with Southern Europe accounting for 83% of these visitors, followed by Western Europe at 6%. 

According to the INSTAT’s report most foreigners entering Albania (97%) came for personal reasons, such as holidays or family visits. 

This figure increased by 7.4% compared to February 2024. 

Business and professional visits also saw a notable jump, rising by 29.6% during the same period, INSTAT said.
