ALGIERS- The launch of the first high-performance computing center focused on artificial intelligence in Algeria, whose foundation stone was laid on Sunday, in Oran, by the Minister of Post and Telecommunications, Sid Ali Zerrouki, is “a strategic step toward digital sovereignty.”
This ambitious project, led by the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications, is a strategic investment in the AI era.
This center, equipped with advanced computing power, will be fitted with the latest generation GPUs, allowing Algerian researchers, startups, and companies to access intensive computing capabilities for AI application development, particularly in the fields of healthcare, industry, cybersecurity, and smart cities.
The Minister of Post and Telecommunications emphasized that this infrastructure aligns with the vision of the President of the Republic aimed to position Algeria as a regional hub for innovation and digital transformation.
He also underscored that this center will facilitate the emergence of a dynamic AI ecosystem by making computing resources accessible to startups and academic institutions.
