TIRANA, January 16 /ATA/ 75 quake-affected families in “Kombinat” neighborhood in Tirana received the keys to their new homes.

Attending the ceremony for the distribution of new apartments was also Mayor of Tirana Erion Veliaj.

The mayor congratulated the residents on their new homes and took the opportunity to recall that this process was not easy and it was delayed due to obstacles of lawsuits filed by the political parties.

However, despite the obstacles and attacks from the opposition, Veliaj said that today good and justice have won.

“I am glad that we are beginning this new year well in “Kombinat”, by distributing the first 75 apartments. At the end of January, we will distribute another 85 apartments. By the end of March, we will distribute another 486 apartments and by summer we will have finished distributing all the apartments of the “Kombinat””, he added.

Meanwhile, Veliaj also gave the good news for the residents of “5 Maji” neighborhood.

“So far, we have distributed 428 apartments in 7 buildings. By the end of March, we will distribute the last 273 apartments in the “5 Maji” area, to ensure that this coming spring is a happy time for all residents of “5 Maji” and the “Kombinat”, and the beginning of a new chapter for everyone”, said the mayor.

Veliaj emphasized that the value of property in Tirana has increased significantly over the last decade, considering this as positive news for citizens. /p.s./
