APS - Clean energy: CPECC expresses will to invest in Algeria

ALGIERS- Secretary of State to the Ministry of Energy, responsible for Renewable Energy, Noureddine Yassaa, received on Tuesday, Executive Vice President of the "China Petroleum Engineering & Construction Corporation" company (CPECC), He Hong San, who expressed the Chinese company’s willingness to invest in Algeria in the field of clean energy, particularly in terms of green hydrogen, said the ministry in a Communiqué.

During this meeting, held at the ministry's headquarters in the presence of its officials, the two parties discussed ways to strengthen cooperation and explore opportunities for investment and partnership between companies in the energy sector. 

They also addressed local renewable energy production, the development of green hydrogen, electricity production and transport, and various stages of the value chain.

In this regard, the Executive Vice President expressed the Chinese company’s interest in investing in these projects through public-private partnerships.  Emphasis was also placed on the pivotal role of these investments in supporting national economic development and enhancing Algeria’s capacities in the field of renewable and sustainable energy, according to the same source.  

For his part, Hong San further expressed "the Chinese company’s readiness to leverage its extensive experience in implementing energy projects in compliance with international standards." 

He also highlighted "its interest in collaborating with Algeria in the production of green hydrogen and transferring advanced technologies in this field," the source concluded.
