ATA - Gonxhja: More than 1.3 million visitors to cultural sites in 2024

TIRANA, Jan 11 /ATA/ The number of visitors to cultural sites, where history intersects with the present and is passed on to future generations, saw a 31% increase in 2024. 

Minister of Economy, Culture, and Innovation, Blendi Gonxhja, announced that in 2024, cultural sites were visited by 1,314,999 people, marking a 31% increase compared to 2023. 

The five most visited sites are the Gjirokastër Castle, the Butrint National Park, the Gjergj Kastrioti Museum in Krujë, the Archaeological Park in Shkodër, and the Archaeological Park in Apollonia. 

The data published by Minister Gonxhja show that the Gjirokastër Castle recorded the highest number of visitors, with a total of 263,048. 

The Butrint National Park was visited by 200,570 visitors in the past year, while the “Gjergj Kastrioti” Museum in Kruja saw 174,571 visitors. 

The Archaeological Park of Shkodra was visited by 157,827 visitors, while the Archaeological Park of Apollonia saw 121,807 visitors.
