ZAGREB, 12 Nov (Hina) - Rimac Technology will make electric drive systems for the carmaker Ceer, the first maker of electric cars in Saudi Arabia, the Rimac Group said.
The electric drive systems will be manufactured in Rimac Technology's production plant at Jankomir, Zagreb.
"Rimac's global reputation and know-how in designing leading edge performance powertrain systems aligns perfectly with our strategic objectives of partnering with global industry leaders as we fulfill our commitment to delivering world-class, high performance electric vehicles and revolutionize the automotive industry in Saudi Arabia," said Ceer CEO James DeLuca.
The partnership with Ceer, a joint venture between the Public Investment Fund (PIF) and Hon Hai Precision Industry Co. (Foxconn), signifies a further evolution of the Rimac Technology business from limited-volume, high-performance applications – including the Rimac Nevera, Pininfarina Battista, Aston Martin Valkyrie and Koenigsegg Regera – to large-scale projects such as collaborations with Porsche, BMW and the latest one, with Ceer, said the Rimac Group.
Rimac Technology has recently announced cooperation with the BMW Group in the development and production of battery systems for future BMW models, and it has also signed contracts for additional projects with European carmakers.
The collaboration with Ceer means a further increase in the volume of production for Rimac Technology, with focus on electric drive systems.
Rimac Technology founder and CEO Mate Rimac said the collaboration with Ceer additionally strengthens Rimac Technology's global ambitions in the field of electrification.
