ZAGREB, 21 Oct (Hina) - The International Animation Day (IAD), which is observed on 28 October worldwide, will be marked in Croatia on 26 October with several events to take place in the Zagreb-based Museum of Contemporary Art (MSU). 

Thus, screenings of animated films, promotions of books, performances, workshops for children and programmes for Animation students will be organised.

October 28 is designated as the International Animation Day (IAD) in memory of the first public performance of Charles-Émile Reynaud's Théâtre Optique at the Musée Grévin in Paris, 1892. 

International Animated Film Association (ASIFA) introduced this observance in 2002. Since then over 50 countries have been taking part in the marking of the IAD.
