ZAGREB, 7 Oct (Hina) - There were 2,392 small businesses in Croatia's fisheries sector this September, or four fewer than in September last year, the Chamber of Trades and Crafts (HOK) says.
"Fisheries is a strategic economic branch, very demanding and very difficult, with multiple challenges," HOK chairman Dalibor Kratohvil said in a press release ahead of the 27th edition of fishermen's annual meeting, set for 10-12 October in Zadar.
Kratohvil underlined the important role of the HOK's fisheries department in fighting for the cause of fishermen.
The head of the department, Stjepan Nedoklan, said that they discuss issue burdening this sector with the Agriculture Ministry.
At the annual meeting in Zadar, participants will prepare their demands and proposals for improvements in the sector and send them to the relevant authorities.
