Eni said Wednesday it was keeping diesel and petrol prices sustainable and its price cap was for spikes.
"Eni shares the needs expressed by the Prime Minister and is implementing—and will continue to implement—a responsible commercial policy that aligns with international market trends," an Eni spokesperson said in response to an inquiry by ANSA.
"This policy aims to keep diesel and petrol prices at a sustainable level, with the price cap currently in effect (at €2.25 per liter, Ed.) serving to contain any potential price spikes." Today, the Italian energy giant set the price of diesel at €2.21.
