TIRANA, Sept. 9 /ATA/ - The arrival of large luxury yachts at Albania’s Port of Durres is generating direct revenue for the state, in addition to their contribution to the tourism sector, the Durres Port Authority said.

The superyacht A+ and support vessel M2, which arrived at the port on Wednesday, are due to take on about 700,000 litres of fuel.

The 0.4 euro-per-litre luxury tax on the fuel is expected to generate about 280,000 euros for the state budget, the authority said.

Fuel supplies to luxury vessels at Albanian ports generated more than

12 million euros in state revenue in 2025, according to the Durres Port Authority.

The authority said the figures highlighted the economic role of the country’s ports, which generate revenue through a range of activities and services beyond their traditional role as entry and exit points.
