After a very brief respite, a fresh heatwave is hitting Italy again, especially in Central and Southern Italy.
    Temperatures will begin to rise today, peaking on Friday, August 28, with 8 cities on red alert.
    Health risk alerts are in place for Bari, Cagliari, Campobasso, Catania, Latina, Messina, Palermo, Reggio Calabria, and Rome.
    Nine cities are on orange alert (negative effects on the health of the most susceptible population): Ancona, Bologna, Civitavecchia, Florence, Frosinone, Perugia, Pescara, Rieti, and Viterbo.
    Things will be better in Central and Northern Italy, which has received the majority of yellow and green alerts.
    Pre-alerts have been issued for Bolzano, Brescia, Genoa, Naples, Venice, and Verona.
    No risk only for 3 cities: Milan, Turin, Trieste are already in green starting today and will remain there until August 28th.
    Today and tomorrow only Campobasso and Palermo are turning red, while Bari, Cagliari, Latina, Messina, Reggio Calabria and Rome are orange.
    Civitavecchia, Frosinone and Naples are in yellow, also for two days.

Ancona and Florence move from today's pre-alert state to orange tomorrow.
    And if today the majority (11) of the cities (Bologna, Bolzano, Brescia, Genoa, Milan, Pescara, Turin, Trieste, Venice, Verona, Viterbo) are not at risk, tomorrow they will drop to 5.
    In fact, Bologna, Bolzano, Brescia, Pescara, Verona and Viterbo will move to yellow.
    The bulletins are prepared by the Department of Epidemiology of the Lazio Region's Health Service (SSR), as part of the National Operational Plan for Forecasting and Preventing the Health Effects of Heat, coordinated by the Ministry.
    The operational system is deployed in 27 Italian cities.
