Petrol has exceeded the €2 per litre mark on the Italian road network, the transport ministry (MIMIT) said Thursday.
The MIMIT Fuel Price Observatory reports that the average self-service price along the national road network has risen to €2.002 per litre for petrol (yesterday it was €1.997) and to €2.116 per liter for diesel (on Wednesday €2.107).
On the motorway network, however, the average self-service price is €2.077 per litre for petrol (Wednesday €2.074) and €2.186 for diesel (Wednesday €2.178).
The rises are linked to oil prices surging amid the continuation of the Iran war.
