ANSA - May have to suspend biometric checks, Rome airports chief tells FT

Process proves incompatible with the peak volumes, ADR CEO Troncone tells daily

Rome's airports may be forced to suspend the biometric checks required by the new European Entry-Exit System (EES) during the peak summer travel season to avoid chaos, the head of the company that runs them has said.
"We are very worried about the summer," Aeroporti di Roma (ADR) CEO Marco Troncone said in an interview with the Financial Times.
"The process proves to be incompatible with the peak volumes that we are going to face.
"So the only way is to open up the valve.
"There is no way that we can deliver 100% of the enrolment".
ADR runs the capital's Fiumicino and Ciampino airports.
