ANSA - Italy's housing market heating up says report

Property sales up 7.8% in Rome, 25.91% in Palermo

Italy's housing market heated up last year, according to a report on property sales in Italian cities by the National Council of Notaries, which ANSA has had a sneak preview of.
It said property sales increased by 7.8% in Rome, 5.63% in Milan, 8.88% in Turin, 6.42% in Bologna, 6.93% in Naples and a whopping 25.91% in Palermo.
In a separate report last month the notaries said sales on the Italian real-estate market as a whole were up by 6.6% in 2025 compared to the previous year.
It said the rise in property transfers was driven by a 18.8% increase in the number of mortgages granted, with the total climbing to 404,530 last year.
