APS - July 2 legislatives: Electoral campaign gets underway Tuesday

ALGIERS -The electoral campaign for the legislative elections of July 2 will officially kick off today, Tuesday, marking the start of an intense political contest during which political parties and independent candidates will compete to win the support of more than 24 million eligible voters, ahead of a vote widely seen as a key milestone in the strengthening and renewal of the country's legislative institutions.

The three-week campaign will conclude three days before the election day, marking the beginning of the electoral silence period as stipulated by electoral law.

To this end, the candidates will engage in intensive field activities aimed at meeting citizens through public rallies and grassroots outreach events, while making use of social media platforms and audiovisual media to present their ideas and promote their political, economic and social visions, which they will defend during the next five years of the 10th legislature.

The campaign will take place under the direct and full supervision of the National Independent Authority for Elections (ANIE), in accordance with the provisions of the organic law governing the electoral system, as amended by recent legislative texts.

Legal measures have been implemented to ensure integrity, transparency, and equal opportunities for all candidates.

All of these measures share a single purpose: protecting voters’ free choice and ensuring a secure, neutral environment in which citizens can exercise their right to vote and select their representatives free from financial pressures or narrow loyalties, with the ultimate goal of building a strong, genuinely representative Parliament capable of meeting the legislative and economic challenges ahead.
