ANSA - Sinner has more tests at Milan's San Raffaele hospital

Doctors trying to find cause of physical meltdown world number one suffered at French Open

Italy's world number one Jannik Sinner had more tests at Milan's San Raffaele hospital on Tuesday after starting a round of checks on Monday following the physical meltdown that saw him exit the French Open in the second round on May 28.
Doctors are seeking to find the cause of the issue that led the 24-year-old to cave in physically when he was on the verge of victory in the third set of his match against Argentine Juan Manuel Cerundolo.
Sinner was at the hospital for around three hours on Tuesday and left shortly before lunch time, using a secondary exit to avoid the media and fans.
Sources said no more tests are planned for the coming days.
After the Cerundolo match the South Tyrolean four-time slam winner did not blame the heat but said he had simply run out of energy.
Sinner had been odds-on to win his first Roland Garros and take his major tally to five after his great rival, Spanish 23-year-old seven-time slam winner Carlos Alcaraz, pulled out of the French Open and Wimbledon with a wrist injury.
Last year's final, in which Sinner had three match points before losing a five-set epic to the Spanish ace, was one of the best ever in Paris.
