A GNR van is transporting Marine Rousseau, the mother of two brothers aged 4 and 5 who were found abandoned and wandering along National Road 253 (EN253) in the Monte Novo do Sul area, between Comporta and Alcácer do Sal in the district of Setúbal, to the Setúbal Judicial Court, where she will appear for her initial questioning, in Fátima, Ourém, 22 May 2026. The two suspects, the mather, aged 41, and a men, aged 55, accused of leaving the children at that location were arrested by the GNR on Thursday while they were sitting on the terrace of a café located near the town of Fátima, in the municipality of Ourém, Santarém district.
