NNA - In a statement, the Ministry of Culture announced that it had received a grant from the Honor Frost Foundation to support the development of a digital platform dedicated to preserving, publishing and providing access to the journal "BAAL," including its archives, future issues and new content. The initiative aims to preserve and disseminate Lebanese archaeological and scientific knowledge while facilitating access for researchers, students and the public in Lebanon and abroad.

The statement added that the grant marks an important step toward strengthening one of Lebanon’s and the region’s leading scientific and archaeological publications and making it accessible to a wider audience.

Since its launch by the Directorate General of Antiquities, the journal "BAAL" has documented major archaeological discoveries, excavations, research and studies related to Lebanese cultural heritage and the Eastern Mediterranean.

The ministry noted that the project falls within its broader efforts to enhance the digital infrastructure of culture, preserve national memory and expand access to heritage documentation and scientific publications through modern tools and platforms.

The statement concluded with the Ministry of Culture thanking the Honor Frost Foundation for its "continued commitment to protecting, documenting and promoting maritime and archaeological heritage in Lebanon and the region."
