ANSA - Inter beat Lazio in Italian Cup final to complete domestic double

Chivu wins two titles in first season in charge of a top-flight side

Inter beat Lazio 2-0 in the Italian Cup final in Rome on Wednesday to complete the domestic double after they had already wrapped up the Serie A title with three games to spare.
Cristian Chivu's men barely had to break a sweat to prevail, with Lazio the architects of their own downfall.
The opener was an own goal by Lazio defender Adam Marusic and full-back Nuno Tavares was at fault in Inter's second, letting Denzel Dumfries steal possession in defence to set up Lautaro Martinez in front of goal.
The double is remarkable feat for Chivu, who had no experience of top-flight management before being promoted from Inter's academy to replace Simone Inzaghi in the closed season.

Chivu was a player in Jose Mourinsho's Inter side that won the treble of the Champions League, Serie A and Italian Cup in 2010.
It is Inter's 10th Italian Cup.
