ZAGREB, 21 April (Hina) - Through the Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps programmes, 709 projects worth more than €53 million were contracted across Croatia in 2025, the Agency for Mobility and EU Programmes (AMPEU) reported.
The agency said funding uptake was nearly 100%, with the projects involving more than 23,000 participants, including over 8,413 people with fewer opportunities – those facing social, geographical or health-related barriers to equal access to education, training and mobility.
Under Erasmus+, the EU’s largest programme for education, training, youth and sport, 641 projects worth over €51 million were funded. These include student and staff mobility, international cooperation between educational institutions, youth exchanges, and innovation partnerships.
By sector, higher education received the most funding (€20.9 million for 66 projects), followed by vocational education and training (€12 million for 143 projects), school education (€8.7 million for 221 projects), and youth (€6.7 million for 101 projects). Adult education received €2.61 million for 97 projects, while sport was allocated €153,377 for 13 projects.
Through the European Solidarity Corps, 68 projects worth over €2 million were approved, supporting volunteering activities and solidarity initiatives aimed at vulnerable groups, environmental protection, and encouraging youth civic engagement.
The contracted projects include planned international mobility, learning, and volunteering activities for more than 23,000 participants. Erasmus+ accounts for 22,491 participants, including students and staff in higher education, vocational schools, general education and adult education, young people and youth workers, trainers, and sports staff. The Solidarity Corps projects cover 598 participants.
In the 2026 programme year, Croatian beneficiaries have access to more than €52.8 million through new calls under Erasmus+ and the European Solidarity Corps, with most funding allocated to Erasmus+.
The agency also highlighted that 8,413 participants with fewer opportunities were included overall –8,164 in Erasmus+ and 249 in the European Solidarity Corps.
